Why is the subscription necessary?
The device has its own 4G SIM and automatically sends its location and alerts to MyCarAlert servers. You can check your car and receive notifications anywhere in the world where you have internet access, as long as the car is within the mobile coverage included in the subscription.

The subscription includes the device SIM and mobile data, roaming in the included countries, servers, notifications, history and the app. You do not need to buy or manage a separate SIM card.

How does it all work?
The MyCarAlert GPS tracking device, which you purchase from us, can be easily inserted into the OBD connector, typically located under the steering wheel of your car (no tools or installation required). The device includes a SIM card with a data plan necessary for communication. It reads the car’s position from GPS satellites (and with the PRO model, also gathers computer information from the car) and sends this data to our cloud servers via the GSM mobile cellular network for storage and analysis.
You can download the MyCarAlert Pro mobile app for free from the Play Store or App Store, which connects to our cloud servers through the internet. This allows for live location tracking, alert setup, receive push notifications, and access to all our services. In order to use the MyCarAlert Pro mobile app with MyCarAlert GPS devices, you need to purchase a subscription.
The subscription covers all fees for the SIM card, servers, and mobile app. This is the only charge for using the service, with no additional costs for data usage.
